- Joint solution provides rapid test configuration and root cause analysis of application defects without physical access to hardware or far reaching branch offices.
Shunra Software (www.shunra.com), the world's leading provider of network emulation and application performance testing solutions, and VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program member, today announced it has released Shunra VE for VMware Infrastructure 3. VMware provides TAP program members with tools to develop products that are complementary to VMware virtualization software and help deliver high-value solutions to our joint customers.
"Shunra Virtual Enterprise effectively leverages VMware virtualization to overcome the common hurdles in rolling out applications over the live network. This enables customers to perform pre-deployment application testing in a virtual environment which replicates their real world wide area network," said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliances programs at VMware.

Both Shunra and VMware have already established close collaboration as members of the SAP(R) Co-Innovation Lab, which provides a hands-on working environment for SAP, its customers and partners. This environment leverages partner technology, from companies including Shunra and VMware, to accurately simulate real-world application performance in a secure environment. "The use of Shunra's Virtual Enterprise solutions, used in the SAP Co-Innovation Lab, together with the VMware Infrastructure environment, allows us to quickly replicate real-world wide-area networks for third-party certifications and other projects," said Joerg Nalik, PhD, director, Infrastructure Technologies, SAP Labs. "The ease of use, speed of set up, and flexibility of the combined solution has been key to standardizing and reducing the time required for certifications taking place in the lab."
