MSC/J&L Metalworking Release date: September 10, 2008
Melville, New York. (September 10, 2008). On September 1, 2008, MSC/J&L Metalworking released its Volume 77(V77) metalworking catalog. This full color catalog is the most comprehensive catalog in the metalworking industry. The catalog release coincides with the completion of the merging of all operations of J&L Industrial Supply and MSC Industrial Direct Co., Inc. The new catalog will also be available online at www.mscjlmetalworking.com.
When asked about the new metalworking business entity, MSC/J&L Metalworking, Erik Gershwind, Senior V.P. of Product Management and Marketing, stated, "Our goal in acquiring J&L Industrial Supply and integrating it with the MSC business was to create the world's most comprehensive metalworking resource. The new MSC/J&L Metalworking V77 catalog is larger and more comprehensive than any prior J&L catalog. It contains 16,000 more items and an additional 254 pages of product and technical information than the prior V76 catalog. Part numbers are standardized with the MSC Big Book, and a redesigned Indexable Cutting Tool section makes finding products much easier. The 16,000 new items include expanded product offerings from Kennametal, OSG, Hertel, Guehring, Lenox, Mitutoyo, Norton, 3M, and Stanley. They also include new product lines such as Accupro, Precision Twist Drill, SPI, Master Chemical, Tru-Maxx, and Brite Star.
