Niagara Blower Company

Release date: September 15, 2008

(Buffalo, NY) Niagara "No-Frost"® refrigeration and dehumidification systems provide efficient, continuous control over process air dry bulb and dew point temperatures. Used in diverse commercial and industrial applications ranging from blast freezers to breweries to cosmetic production, "No-Frost" offers the following benefits:

o Fast freezing for fresh products
o Continuous frost-free operation
o Conditioned and cleaned process air
o Lowest cost per ton of refrigeration
o Control of mold & bacteria
o Ability to handle large moisture loads
o Rapid drying after wash down

The patented "No-Frost" system is comprised of a conditioner and a liquid concentrator. In the conditioner a continuous spray of USDA approved "No-Frost" liquid is pumped over an evaporator coil, with a fan pulling air from the space through the spray coil chamber and back into the area(s). The liquid spray cools air, controls dew point, captures airborne particles (including bacteria such as Listeria, Salmonella and Yersinia), deodorizes air passing through the spray chamber and picks up moisture that would otherwise become frost on the coil surface.

As the "No-Frost" liquid becomes dilute, and it is circulated to a patented "No-Frost" liquid concentrator which removes the excessive moisture from the liquid using a heat source. The concentrator maintains the "No-Frost" liquid at its proper concentration and effectively eliminates any liquid losses. For humidity control applications, the amount of dew point depression can be varied by changing the concentration of "No-Frost" liquid or by utilizing Niagara's patented Hygrol method of dehumidification for higher temperature ranges.

Niagara "No-Frost" conditioners are designed to meet USDA sanitation standard requirements for the food industry. All interior parts are readily accessible for inspection and cleaning. Interior surfaces are designed to eliminate pockets which could collect dirt, lint or bacteria. Available in carbon steel, stainless steel or FRP construction, finishes are smooth and corrosion-resistant.

Niagara Blower is a design-build manufacturer providing engineered solutions to heat transfer applications at power, process, refinery, food and brewing facilities worldwide since 1904. Niagara's customized product lines include WSAC(TM) closed-loop, evaporative coolers and condensers and "No-Frost"® liquid desiccant dehumidification systems.
