Summit to showcase business models for biofuel technology.


September 10, 2008 - On Sept 10-12, more than 400 business leaders and public officials will gather at Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy to showcase business models and public policies for commercializing advanced biofuel technology. Plenary session will feature leaders from U.S. and Canadian companies working to bring advanced biofuels to market, while breakout sessions will highlight new companies and partnerships for developing advanced biofuels and biobased products.

New Partnerships for Advanced Biofuels, Biobased Products To Be Showcased at BIO's Pacific Rim Summit

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Friday, September 05, 2008) - More than 400 business leaders and public officials will gather at the Pacific Rim Summit on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy, Sept. 10-12 in Vancouver, British Columbia to showcase new business models and public policies for commercializing advanced biofuel technology.

A plenary session titled "Global Energy, Forestry and Chemical Industry Partnerships: A New Business Model for Advanced Biofuels?" on Friday Sept. 12 at 12:30 p.m. PDT will feature leaders from U.S. and Canadian companies working to bring advanced biofuels to market:

o Mike Burnside, president and CEO, Catchlight Energy LLC, a Chevron-Weyerhaeuser Joint Venture;

o Jennifer Holmgren, director, Renewable Energy and Chemicals, UOP LLC; and

o Joseph Skurla, president, DuPont Danisco Cellulosic Ethanol LLC.

Breakout sessions at the Summit will also highlight new companies and partnerships for developing advanced biofuels and biobased products, including:
