Genie, a Terex Company

Release date: September 4, 2008

Redmond, Wash. (September 4, 2008) - Genie Industries announced today that Luke Webber has been appointed to the new position of Senior Compliance and Applications Engineer. In his new role, Webber will provide direct customer product compliance and application support for the Genie® product line.

"Luke's extensive knowledge of all Genie® Aerial Work Platforms division products coupled with his design engineering background make him a natural fit for this position," said Allen Luft, Engineering Standards Manager, Genie Industries. "Luke is very customer oriented and will be able to quickly resolve or route requests and questions to the right place within the organization."

Webber will be the central point of contact for Genie customers with product design and standards related questions and needs. He will work closely with the Genie aftermarket support team, engineering, product management and product safety groups to address a variety of matters including product compliance with governing standards, proposed product modifications for special applications and product application questions that require special permissions or considerations prior to placing the machine on the work site. He will also identify opportunities for new product development.

Webber joined Genie Industries in 1999 as a mechanical engineer. During his career at Genie, Webber has also been appointed to the corporate materials department and the engineering standards and compliance group. In 2005, Webber joined the product management team responsible for the Genie® portable product line and from 2006-present, Webber managed the North American telehandler line.

A native of Oregon, Webber obtained a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Oregon State University in 1999.
