'World's Water Event' invites brightest minds in water community to share ideas
(DENVER) -The American Water Works Association (AWWA) is accepting abstracts for its Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE09) through Monday, Sept. 15, 2008. ACE09 will be held June 14-18, 2009, in San Diego, CA.
AWWA solicits oral and poster presentations for the conference's professional program, and papers for both will be included in the conference proceedings. The deadline for poster submissions is Jan. 12, 2009. Details for both abstract and poster submissions are available on AWWA's web site.
AWWA's annual conference provides the largest and longest-running program worldwide for water professionals, presenting timely information for water utility executives and managers, operators, scientists, researchers and engineers. There are sessions designed for utility board members and city council members, personnel directors, public communications managers, customer service professionals and financial managers. Manufacturers are encouraged to submit abstracts outlining new technology, innovations or unique applications of products or equipment of interest to the water quality community.
The program will consist of at least 100 half-day sessions, each comprised of several presentations. Oral presentations are typically 20 minutes long, followed by a short discussion period. The organization of each session is delegated to one or more of the AWWA divisions and committees, which have the sole discretion of determining the format and content of the session. In addition, the organizing groups select poster presentations. Each group is required to review all pertinent abstracts submitted; they may select some of the speakers from other sources.
