Spectrum Control, Inc.

Release date: August 18, 2008

Fairview, PA - August 18, 2008 - Spectrum Control, Inc.'s line of motor line feed-through filters (MLFT), a flexible low cost solution to EMI (RF) noise issues, now feature standard part numbers and are in stock for sampling. These filters provide EMI protection for DC Motor and other low voltage applications and offer significant insertion loss to pass global conductive and radiated EMC tests, such as CISPR 25.

Spectrum's MLFT filters are designed as a one-component solution to eliminate the need for multiple capacitors, inductive coils, leads and PCB assemblies requiring numerous electrical connections and large amounts of space. These filters can be engineered into existing mechanical packages allowing for an easy retro fit to current designs or as a custom one-piece assembly to simplify production/installation at a reduced overall cost.

The MLFT Technology was originally created to solve the filtering needs of DC motors allowing them to pass the stringent standards placed on these motors. These filters are not limited to just automotive applications, but can be designed for almost any application that requires high capacitance at lower voltages. Some of these applications include communication equipment, industrial process controls, medical equipment, cable telemetry, military equipment and wireless devices.

Standard MLFT part numbers include filters with single and dual lines, stamped and threaded housings, Faston and round-lead terminals, with capacitance values to .18µF and up to 100 Volts. Custom mechanical packages are available, as well as higher capacitance values, and transient voltage and surge protection. Spectrum Control's motor line feed-through (MLFT) filters have pricing ranging from $0.40 to $1.20 depending on configuration and quantities required.

About Spectrum Control Spectrum Control, an ISO 9001:2000 and TS 16949 certified company, designs, manufactures and markets a broad line of EMI/RFI filters and power components, power management systems, microwave components, sensors and controls.

The Spectrum Control Signal & Power Integrity Group produces discrete surface mount EMI filters, resin sealed and hermetically sealed EMI filters, EMI filtered arrays, EMI filtered connectors, ESD/EFT protected connectors, filtered data-com connectors, gaskets and shielding, patch antenna elements, single line filters, filtered terminal blocks, power entry modules, power line filters, military/aerospace multi-section filters, and commercial custom assemblies.

Spectrum Power Management Systems produces AC and DC power distribution and remote management systems. Products include off-the-shelf SMART start products as well as customized products or systems designed to suit specific user requirements. DC power circuit breaker and fuse interface panels, power outlet strips and data acquisition modules are also offered.

Spectrum Microwave is a wholly owned subsidiary of Spectrum Control, Inc. and produces a wide range of microwave components and systems. Frequency Control Components includes a wide range low phase noise amplifiers, LNAs, Mixers, Switches, DROs and VCOs. The Filter Division specializes in Lumped Element Filters, Cavity, Ceramic, Waveguide, Tubular, Diplexer and Multiplexer Designs. The Integrated Microwave Systems Group designs and manufactures Switch Filter Banks, Synthesizers, PLOs, DTOs, GPS LNAs, and sophisticated Microwave Assemblies.

Spectrum Sensors & Controls Precision Positioning Sensors Operation manufactures a variety of precision co-molded conductive plastic potentiometers and position sensors, as well as element segments and cable assemblies.
