North American Die Casting Association, The (NADCA) Release date: July 18, 2008
Wheeling, IL - NADCA releases a completely revised version of High Integrity Die Castings. By high integrity die-castings, it is implied that the castings are sound, reliable, and heat treatable. This book is a sequel to the previously released NADCA book Science and Technology of Semi-Solid Metal Processing. This book is encompassing in that it now addresses the squeeze and high vacuum die casting processes as well as the SSM casting processes. Topics covered for each of the casting processes include: equipment, processing fundamentals, process capabilities and limitations, process modeling, alloys and properties, melt preparation, heat treatment, and economics.
The book was written by Diran Apelian, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and John L. Jorstad, JLJ Technologies, Inc. with contributions from; Qingyue Pan, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Makhlouf Makhlouf, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Christoph Heisser, MAGMA Foundry Technologies, Chuck Barns, Contech, Fred Major, Rio Tinto Alcan, and Steve Udvardy, NADCA.
