Integrated Environmental Services

Release date: July 22, 2008

Company Commended on Expertise

Atlanta- July 22, 2008

Integrated Environmental Services (IES), an Atlanta based company, traveled to Dublin, Ireland last week and successfully neutralized seven cylinders containing the deadly chemical hydrogen cyanide. The cylinders were the property of a large UK-based company, and had been stored in an industrial park for decades.

Previous plans called for the cylinders to be detonated at an army base but large-scale protests and concerns over environmental contamination led the South Dublin County Council to seek a better solution. With only a one week window to mobilize and execute the project, IES was recruited to safely manage this extremely explosive and toxic chemical based on their extensive experience and specialized knowledge in managing highly hazardous materials. IES received numerous commendations from the Irish EPA, South Dublin County Council and the Dublin community in general for their professionalism, speed, and expertise in safely handling the cylinders.

About Integrated Environmental Services

IES is a private corporation that specializes in on-site management of waste compressed gas cylinders, radioactive materials, and chemical/biological weapons. The company applies technologies and systems developed over 19 years to the management and handling of highly hazardous materials on a global basis. IES holds 34 patents related to remediation, reclamation and processing of high hazard materials. These patents cover techniques and specialized equipment developed by IES for the use in the disposal of hazardous materials including hydrogen cyanide. The IES approach to managing high-hazard waste has been to emphasize safety of personnel and protection of the environment. This philosophy provides the catalyst for technical innovation. All the equipment IES designs is configured for safety and on-site operation, combining remote functions with multi-level containment to fulfill this goal. Precision Technik, Inc, the sister company of IES, manufactures top of the line transportable containment systems for hazardous materials with a speciality in handling compressed gas cylinders.
