Receives Boeing Performance Excellence Award Melville, NY, July 9, 2008 - MSC INDUSTRIAL DIRECT CO., INC., "MSC" or the "Company," one of the premier distributors of Metalworking and Maintenance, Repair and Operations ("MRO") supplies to industrial customers throughout the United States, has been selected as a recipient of a Boeing Performance Excellence Award for 2007. The Boeing Company presents Performance Excellence Awards annually to recognize superior performance by its suppliers. Award recipients are chosen based on a composite score, which includes customer satisfaction factors along with performance ratings and service metrics. The primary criteria used in selecting recipients is quality and on time delivery. MSC was awarded a Gold Level Excellence Award, which is the highest level awarded by Boeing, given out to roughly 1% of Boeing suppliers.

The Boeing Performance Excellence Award was presented to MSC on April 17th in San Diego, CA. Scott Pierce along with Greg Duran, MSC National Accounts Team Manager, were present at the awards ceremony. When asked to comment on the award and the ceremony, Greg Duran stated, "It was a true honor to be recognized by Boeing, particularly since the other award winners included industry leaders such as 3M, GE Global Research, Sun Microsystems, Oracle, EMC, and American Semiconductor.
