Quickparts

Release date: May 28, 2008

Quickparts Offers Specialized Medical Grade Materials

Atlanta, GA, May 28, 2008 - Quickparts, the leading provider of rapid prototypes and low-volume custom-manufactured production parts, announced today the availability of specialized medical grade materials for Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) and Cast Urethane Molding.

Materials being offered for specialized medical applications include Duraform PA for the SLS process, PC-ISO for the FDM process and RC-79D for Cast Urethane Molding.

"With the growing needs of customers in the medical industry, we continue to add materials that meet their product development and manufacturing requirements," said Patrick Hunter, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Quickparts.

Duraform PA is a nylon-based material that meets the requirements for USP Class VI classification and, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration may be safely used to produce articles intended for processing, handling and packaging non-alcoholic food.

PC-ISO, an industrial thermoplastic, is compliant with the ISO-1099-3 and Class VI classification, and is widely used throughout packaging and medical device manufacturers.

RC-79D is approved for many medical applications including MRI coil housings and is a UL 94V0 registered flame retardant polyurethane.
