The RIA and the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) have signed a memo of understanding, formalizing their intention to collaborate on a number of industry initiatives. Established in 1998, IAQA is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization, comprising both individuals and corporations who share an interest in indoor environmental issues. The RIA, founded in 1946, has served as the trade association for the cleaning and restoration industry.
Organizations Join Forces to Foster Industry Leadership
Columbia, Maryland - The Restoration Industry Association (RIA, formerly ASCR) and the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) have signed a memo of understanding, formalizing their intention to collaborate on a number of industry initiatives.
"This partnership will have a positive impact industry-wide and for each of our associations in particular," said RIA Executive Director Don Manger. "One of the tenets of RIA's mission statement is to provide industry leadership, and we believe that aligning with other strong organizations of integrity accomplishes this goal."
Established in 1998, IAQA is a 501 (c)(6) non-profit organization, comprising both individuals and corporations who share an interest in indoor environmental issues. Members of IAQA include professionals and tradespersons from 15 distinct "disciplines" defined by IAQA.
"IAQA has already demonstrated the benefits of partnering with other strong industry groups," explained IAQA Executive Director Glenn Fellman. "We believe that working closely with RIA for the good of the industry will further strengthen our organizations and serve the industry as a whole."
The Restoration Industry Association, which last year changed its name from the Association of Specialists in Cleaning & Restoration, was founded in 1946 and has served as the trade association for the cleaning and restoration industry for more than 60 years. Beginning as an association primarily for rug cleaners, the association has evolved over the last six decades to incorporate and support all aspects of the restoration arts and sciences.
The Restoration Industry Association (formerly the Association of Specialists in Cleaning & Restoration) has member firms worldwide.
