San Diego, CA - April 16th, 2008 - Linspire, Inc. developer of CNR.com (www.cnr.com), an easy-to-use, one-click digital software delivery service for desktop Linux and web-based software, today announced the immediate availability of a beta CNR Client for the Ubuntu 8.04 long term support (LTS) Linux distribution edition currently in beta. Available to freely download at CNR.com, the beta CNR Client for Ubuntu 7.04, 7.10 and now for 8.04, provides users free access to an online marketplace where they can find, learn about and with one-click download and install the latest desktop Linux software applications of their choice, both free and commercial.

"Since the launch of our new beta CNR.com service, Feisty and Gusty users have made up an important part of the CNR user base," stated Larry Kettler, President & CEO of Linspire, Inc. "We look forward to continuing this growth with Hardy users, as well as adding other popular desktop Linux distributions to CNR.com in the future."

A free service requiring no registration to use, CNR.com provides an easy-to-use on-line marketplace where users can search for software by title, popularity, user rating, category and function, regardless of whether they are desktop Linux or web-based applications.

"It's exciting to watch CNR usage continue to grow with both new and old users, and we always invite them to send us their valuable feedback," continued Kettler. "During this beta period we are quickly closing in on over 1 million software applications installed at CNR.com with a higher than 90% success rate."

The CNR Client provides a number of rich client features such as a Manage Software tab, History tab with extensive details, and filters to quickly review available updates and "My CNR Software" so users can easily manage all their software programs keeping things up to date. CNR.com also currently provides a number of interactive features where users can help contribute and build a community in a web 2.0 environment. You can learn more by visiting the Community tab at www.cnr.com.

For commercial Linux software publishers and ISVs, there is a free Publisher Program that enables vendors to quickly get their software products included in CNR.com and have them available for distribution. For more information please email publishers@cnr.com.
