Press Release

DJ Instruments

Release date: April 18, 2008

Thru-FLO Pressure Transducers From DJ Instruments

Thru-FLO(TM) PRESSURE TRANSDUCERS FROM DJ INSTRUMENTS, A DYNISCO COMPANY, ARE DESIGNED FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY (HPLC) APPLICATIONS

Billerica, MA (April 18, 2008) . . . A line of flow-through pressure transducers from DJ Instruments are designed for use in HPLC pump applications. These precision pressure transducers provide the accurate feedback needed to help OEM's meet the required flow rate accuracies and precision from their pumps. They feature high pressure (up to 15K PSIG) capability and are widely used in the HPLC industry for a variety of challenging applications.

The HPLC technique uses pumps to effectively create mixtures and flow rates, normally under high pressures, that deliver the chemistry without pulsation accurately to the column for separation and analysis. In order for these styles of pump systems to deliver non-pulsed, accurate chemistry mixtures, precise flow and timing under extremely high pressures and positive loop feedback to the pump control systems/circuits is required.

The family of thru-FLO(TM) transducers provide rugged, reliable performance for HPLC applications. They have numerous features and benefits including:

-Flow-through design and a variety of styles including low profile, dual element, sanitary, and high range

-A proprietary one-piece internal volume sensing element design that has a true zero internal dead volume; this 'fully swept' design eliminates the possibility of trapped particles and contamination since there are no internal cavities.

-Low hysteresis using the highest quality materials of construction, including 316 stainless steel, titanium and numerous ID coatings to resist abrasive and corrosive solvents.

-Availability for high pressure ranges from 5K PSIG (normal) HPLC to UHPLC of up to 15K PSIG

In addition, all thru-FLO(TM) transducers feature high accuracy (within 0.25% of full scale), excellent EMI protection, a small footprint and a rugged design. About DJ Instruments
