Philadelphia Gear Corp.

115-Year-Old Gearing Company Continues to Earn Employee Praise KING OF PRUSSIA, PA, March 15, 2008 - Philadelphia Gear Corporation was recently named as one of the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania for the second consecutive year. The program recognizes 100 companies throughout the state in two groups: 50 medium-sized companies (25-250 employees) and 50 large companies (251 or more employees). Philadelphia Gear was recognized in the medium category.

"We are thrilled to receive this honor again, confirming the company's commitment to its employees and its employees' commitment to our customers," said Philadelphia Gear President and CEO Carl Rapp. "Our workplace this year was enhanced through the implementation of a new ERP system that required an aggressive timeline and true teamwork from every single employee to bring this project home on-time, on-spec, and on-budget. The way our people pulled together is a great example of why Philly Gear is a great place to work. Simply put, we keep our promises to each other and to our customers."

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process. The first part was an evaluation of workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of a survey measuring employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and final rankings.

Philadelphia Gear Corporation will be honored at the Best Places to Work in PA evening awards ceremony on November 27, 2007, at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center. The final rankings managed by ModernThink, LLC, will be revealed at the ceremony.

A founding member of the American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA), Philadelphia Gear offers products and services found in use worldwide; from conveyor gear drives used in long wall coal mining operations, to emergency repair services critical to the power generation industries. The company serves thousands of customers across the globe from its regional service and manufacturing facilities in New Castle, DE; Birmingham, AL; Chicago, IL; Houston, TX; and Los Angeles, CA. Philadelphia Gear is headquartered in King of Prussia, PA.
