APICS chooses Toronto to host 2009 conference and expo.


March 26, 2008 - APICS announced that the 2009 APICS International Conference & Expo will be held in Toronto, Ontario at the Metro Toronto Convention Center, October 4-6, 2009. The event showcases the latest best practices in the field of operations management and supply chain management. More than 3,000 professionals from around the world gather each year to participate in educational sessions, presentations from industry leaders, and networking events.

Toronto Chosen to Host APICS International Conference & Expo in 2009

Alexandria, VA (February 26, 2008) APICS The Association for Operations Management today announced the 2009 APICS International Conference & Expo will be held in Toronto, Ontario. The decision to hold the event in Canada reflects the commitment APICS has made to serve the needs of its geographically diverse membership base. APICS has 43,000 members worldwide.

"APICS is dedicated to helping our members and their organizations successfully compete in the global economy," said Robert J. Vokurka, CFPIM, CIRM, CSCP, Ph.D., C.P.M, Chair of the APICS Board of Directors. "In Toronto, APICS members will have the opportunity to experience first hand the international operations and supply chain management environment while interacting with presenters and attendees from all over the world."

The conference will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Center, October 4-6, 2009. Tourism Toronto, the marketing organization for Toronto's tourism industry, estimated that it will have an economic impact of $6,360,000 (CAD).
