Created by international team of Certified Laser Safety Officers, Best Practices in Laser Safety handbook offers compendium of procedures, policies, and practical advice to be used by laser safety professionals using Class 3B and Class 4 lasers. Chapters cover areas of laser safety practices that are typically needed in anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of laser hazards as well as rules and regulations that have been established to minimize risk.

CLSOs' Best Practices in Laser Safety is a compendium of procedures, policies, and practical advice to be used by laser safety professionals. An international team of twenty laser safety experts who are Certified Laser Safety Officers from industry, medicine, and academia volunteered their time and effort to create this benchmark reference handbook.
Lasers are vital tools for manufacturing, research, and medicine. However, there are potential hazards associated with their use, especially among Class 3B and Class 4 lasers or laser systems. CLSOs' Best Practices in Laser Safety concentrates on how to address these hazards and how to operate around them safely.
The different chapters in this handbook cover areas of laser safety practices that are typically needed in the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of laser hazards as well as the rules and regulations that have been established to minimize the risk. In addition, the text contains laser-related accident case histories with training tools and "lessons learned" sources.
As an added feature with the book, CLSOs' Best Practices in Laser Safety includes Initial Training (106 slides) and Refresher Training (62 slides) on a CD-ROM PowerPointTM presentation for Laser Safety Officers to use in training their facilities' laser users.
