Airius LLC

Release date: December 20, 2007

AIRIUSŪ Thermal Equalizer Receives 2007 Benchmarking Sustainability Building Product Award

Longmont, CO - December 20, 2007 - AIRIUSŪ LLC received the Green Building Pages 2007 Benchmarking Sustainability Building Product Award at the U.S. Green Building Council's Greenbuild International Conference and Expo recently held in Chicago.

The "End of Product Life" award was presented to Airius for its AIRIUSŪ Thermal Equalizer product on November 7 by Marilyn Miller Farmer, Director of Green Building Pages, Inc. Criteria for this award include a product's environmental sustainability as it relates to alternative disposal, reclamation, re-use, recycling and biodegradability.

"The AIRIUS Thermal Equalizer is a deserving recipient of our annual Benchmarking Sustainability Building Product Award due to its support of a healthy, sustainable and socially responsible environment," said Miller Farmer. "The Green Building Pages provides a reliable source of sustainable product information to building industry professionals and consumers who support environmental responsibility, and the AIRIUS Thermal Equalizer is certainly one of those products."

The award was accepted by Ray Avedon, president of AIRIUS LLC, at the Greenbuild Conference. He said, "We are honored to receive this acknowledgment of our environmental stewardship for our product's sustainability after its life cycle is complete. The great news is that the AIRIUS Thermal Equalizer is also extremely energy efficient while in use-leaving behind a much smaller carbon footprint from start-to finish."

The AIRIUS Thermal Equalizer is a tremendously efficient air movement system suspended near the ceiling. Unlike traditional industrial ceiling fans and other air distribution systems that employ high-energy, inefficient propeller technology that blows air outward, the patented AIRIUS Thermal Equalizer utilizes extremely compact, low-wattage, advanced jet-engine technology that directs air in a tight, effective, compact jet stream.

ABOUT AIRIUS AIRIUSŪ LLC is committed to the development of unique, patented Thermal Equalization products. The AIRIUSŪ Thermal Equalizer generates a significant reduction in energy consumption and greatly reduces heating and cooling energy costs, while at the same time improving comfort levels inside buildings. By eliminating the thermal differential, or stratification, that naturally occurs in buildings as heat (warmed air) rises, significant energy savings and consumption are achieved, and building HVAC functions are made more efficient. According the U.S. Department of Energy, destratification is a primary step in energy conservation. The AIRIUS method of air destratification is the most cost-effective and efficient destratification product available on the market today, and is a much more viable alternative than ceiling fans and oversized industrial box fans. AIRIUS LLC, along with its parent company, Avedon Engineering, Inc., is housed in the company's 165,000 square-foot design and manufacturing facilities located in Longmont, Colorado.
