AMX Corp.

Release date: October 2, 2007

Acquisition Will Enable AMX to Expand Its Product Offerings into Smaller Classrooms, Conference Rooms and Other Environments

RICHARDSON, Texas, Oct. 2 /-- AMX® announced today that it has acquired ProCon Technology, a UK-based manufacturer of audio/video (A/V) switching and control equipment. With this acquisition, AMX's product portfolio will include a new line up of configurable control keypad systems, switchers and distribution amplifiers specifically designed to simplify the way people interact with, and use, A/V equipment in simpler, single-room environments.

Founded in 1989 in Hemel Hempstead, England, ProCon has focused exclusively on developing simple, cost-effective solutions for classrooms, conference rooms and other small-rooms with limited A/V control and distribution needs. The company's product portfolio includes combined keypad and controller systems, presentation and matrix switchers, and distribution amplifiers.

"AMX continues to explore and pursue strategic acquisitions that will further extend our corporate mission -- to manufacture and sell products that simplify the lives of AMX system integrators and our end users. ProCon's dedication to providing very simple and affordable switching and control products aligns perfectly with this mission," said Rashid Skaf, AMX president and CEO. "With our acquisition of ProCon, AMX will be able to provide our dealers with a wider range of device, content and asset control solutions, enabling them to meet nearly any K-12, higher education and business need -- from simple classroom A/V control, all the way to the most-complex, highly-integrated, fully-automated auditorium."

"ProCon products have primarily been sold in the UK; however, as part of AMX, our solutions will become part of a worldwide sales and distribution network, expanding our market opportunity exponentially," said Chris Kendall, ProCon's managing director. "We are very excited to be part of the AMX family and look forward to working with the rest of AMX to develop future solutions that will further expand the capabilities of our products."

ProCon will be fully integrated into AMX, and all current ProCon employees will now be AMX employees. The full line of ProCon products are currently available for purchase only in the UK through AMX UK. AMX plans to introduce the product offering to the world wide market in the coming months via its extensive sales network.
