Press Release

Objet Geometries Inc.

Release date: August 12, 2007

Israel Aerospace Industries Acquires 2 Eden500V(TM) 3D Printing Systems

August 12, 2007

Rehovot, Israel - 12 August, 2007 - Objet Geometries Ltd., the world leader in ultra-thin layer photopolymer jetting, and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI; formerly Israel Aircraft Industries), today announced that IAI has purchased two Eden500V(TM) 3-Dimensional Printing Systems, bringing high-accuracy, high-performance modeling capabilities right into the hands of IAI's in-house designers and engineers.

"With the Eden 500V, we can efficiently model and test the various components and sub-systems in-house from the very earliest stages of the design process, which cuts our development time and costs" said the manager of one of the leading engineering groups, at Israel Aerospace Industries. "Even more important, the Objet system enables us to handle the most sophisticated modeling in-house and ensures full confidentiality regarding our highly sensitive military products and technologies."

The Eden500V is the top-of-the-line system in Objet's highly successful Eden family of 3 Dimensonal Printing Systems, which is based on Objet's PolyJet(TM) polymer jetting technology. PolyJet technology enables horizontal layers of just 16µ (0.0006"), fine details, and ultra-thin walls down to 0.6mm (0.024") depending on geometry. This high level of accuracy and detail is perfectly suited to the needs of IAI, which, as a world leader developer of military and commercial aerospace technology, is constantly exploring new concepts and products that incorporate numerous original components.

"We are happy with the adoption rate of the Eden500V by major technology companies such as Israel Aerospace Industries," commented Adina Shorr, CEO of Objet Geometries. "IAI works at the leading edge of a sophisticated field, so the company seeks and maintains the highest standards from the beginning of design through modeling and production. We are proud IAI chose Objet to help them further develop their state of the art design process."

Gaining Quality, Flexibility and Productivity With the Eden500 V's large build-size of 50cm x 40cm x 20cm (19.7" x 15.7" x 7.9"), IAI can produce large models in a single build. Alternatively, they can produce multiple models simultaneously in a single build, saving valuable time and costs, and increasing IAI's overall modeling and prototyping capacity. With a choice of High Quality (HQ) or High Speed (HS) printing modes, IAI can match quality and speed to the specific needs of any project. In both modes, they can print with X and Y resolution of up to 600 dpi, allowing high-speed production of models with very fine details.

The system can operate for approximately 72 hours completely unattended. This means IAI can continue producing models over the weekend, without a weekend operator, and run additional shifts every weekday without increasing staffing costs.
