Door Performance Tests Reviewed in New Special-Lite Brochure
Special-Lite's new Testing Summary brochure highlights the important performance tests their doors have passed, including their most popular, high-performance Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester (FRP) SL-17 Flush Door.
The tests reviewed cover both industry standard tests conducted by third party laboratories and proprietary tests designed to evaluate real world performance.
Test and certification results reviewed in the third party section of the brochures include:
. 25 million cycle swing test (ANSI A250.4)
. Thermal performance (AAMA 1503-98)
. GREENGUARD Children & Schools Standard(TM)
. Security Classification Grade 40 (ASTM F 476)
The brochure also details two proprietary tests that Special-Lite conducts on their door models. An impact test evaluates how their FRP Flush Doors' lightweight and flexible design helps them stand up to high impact forces even when the door is blocked open. An exposure test confirms their products' fade-resistance and ability to withstand thermal extremes.
The brochure concludes that the best measure of door performance is how they stand the test of time in actual installations. It cites a number of demanding, high-traffic and/or environmentally challenging applications where Special-Lite doors are proving their durability.
