Nevada, Vermont and Illinois Make QuickAddress Part of Data Integrity Strategy
BOSTON, July 31 / -- QAS, an Experian company specializing in address verification and cleansing solutions, has been selected by multiple state motor vehicle agencies to validate residents' addresses as part of driver services administration. QuickAddress Pro software has been adopted to facilitate customer interaction and improve service levels as well as guarantee the accuracy of address information entered into statewide databases.
The first to roll out this solution was the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles which implemented QAS in its 21 state branches in February 2007. Due to increases in the state's population base, Nevada sought a solution that would help the progressive department keep pace with customer demand while maintaining superior service levels and quality records. The DMV's goal is to increase the volume of drivers' licenses, vehicle registrations and records distributed through the mail rather than over the counter, making record accuracy and mail deliverability essential.
"The software is a critical tool in improving the accuracy of our database," said Ginny Lewis, director of the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. "Accurate addresses allow us to mail important documents to our customers with confidence and entering new transactions with accurate data saves time and money in the long run."
Records collected and maintained by the Nevada DMV are also disseminated to state agencies such as law enforcement and the Secretary of State, where they are used to communicate with residents on matters such as voter registration and jury duty.
"Nevada does not have a state income tax; the Nevada DMV's database is the most complete database of Nevada adults that exists. The integrity of our database is critical to the welfare of all Nevada residents," added Lewis.
QuickAddress Pro confirms addresses against official postal authority records resulting in an improvement of overall data quality, productivity and reductions in undeliverable mail. Unlike other address cleansing products, QuickAddress Pro is a "front-end" solution that identifies and fixes address errors before they enter the database. The software automatically corrects and standardizes addresses upon keystroke entry, resulting in decreased human error and increased efficiencies in throughput. In addition to Nevada, other states such as Illinois and Vermont are ramping up to utilize QuickAddress Pro. Both states intend to outfit their DMV branches with QAS software in order to validate addresses captured during driver's license, registration and titling processes.
