Deal Combines Polypropylene-Based Composite Manufacturing Expertise with #1 Brand in Porch Decking

BIDDEFORD, Maine, June 29 -- Correct Building Products LLC, via its wholly owned subsidiary Tendura Marketing LLC, announced today the acquisition of Tendura Corporation, combining the leading manufacturer of polypropylene-based composite decking with the leading marketer of low- maintenance composite tongue-and-groove porch flooring. The deal solidifies a manufacturing and sales alliance that began in 2006.

Correct Building Products, the manufacturer of CorrectDeck(R) decking and accessories, has been manufacturing Tendura porch flooring since last October. The decision to acquire Tendura came on the heels of a few simple product design upgrades that were received favorably by the market, according to the company. "We made advancements in the automatic spacing of each plank for improved performance and began pre-drilling for reduced installation time," said Martin Grohman, Correct Building Products' president.

"Engineered wood is the perfect solution for porch applications because of its ease of application, long-lasting aesthetics and resistance to rot. Tendura complements our existing line of polypropylene-based composite decking and is now fully backed with the same dedication to customer service as our CorrectDeck products," Grohman added.

Porch popularity on the rise

With Tendura's brand strength and product integrity, Correct Building Products is poised to take advantage of housing indicators that suggest continued growth in the porch products industry. A recent study by the National Association of Home Builders, which polled architects, designers, manufacturers and marketers, found that as many as 70% of homes built by 2015 will include porches as standard features.

"Porches are becoming increasingly popular because of renewed interest in the neighborhood community," said Grohman. "Adding porches to homes is also a key part of the Traditional Neighborhood Development movement, which focuses on creating a sense of urban community. Porches are friendly, welcoming structures that appeal to a variety of homeowners," he added.

Correct Building Products, headquartered in Biddeford, Maine, is the leading manufacturer of polypropylene-based composite decking products. It leads the wood-composite industry with technical innovation in areas of design, formulation and automation. The company's CorrectDeck(R) CX with Microban(R) antimicrobial product protection is the first composite decking to combine antimicrobial protection that resists mold and mildew with stain- and fade-resistance. More information is available at www.correctdeck.com.

Tendura, now headquartered in Biddeford, is a leading manufacturer of composite porch flooring. Founded in 2001, Tendura offers its tongue-and- groove planks in two finishes. The Tendura Classic collection is factory- primed and can be finished with latex- or alkyd-based paint. Tendura Select is available in a medium gray that weathers to a light, natural gray and requires no painting. More information is available at www.tendura.com.
