Colson Caster Celebrates 50th Year and Adds to Marketing Team
Monday, June 04, 2007 Long and Rowan to Drive Product and Corporate Direction
NORTHEAST, AR- Colson Caster Corporation, the world's leading manufacturer of standard and custom application caster and wheel products, today announced additions to its corporate marketing group. David Long has moved from the sales department to accept the position of Product Manager, and Marti Sprigg Rowan has joined Colson as its new marketing services coordinator. Colson makes these strategic personnel changes as part of its 2007 growth and planning initiative that also coincides with the company's 50th anniversary of business operations within the Jonesboro area.
"This is without a doubt our most competitive marketplace to-date," said Chuck Bub, general manager of Colson. "This team is not only going to move us into new domestic markets and launch new products, but they will also be battling the economic realities of marketing against today's off-shore and import competitors. David and Marti are already hard at work creating aggressive and objective-driven programs to challenge these elements."
Long has more than 18 years in the manufacturing field with nine of those at Colson. In his new position, he will be responsible for competitive market research and analysis, the launch of new product lines, and growing Colson's existing domestic and import businesses. Before coming to Colson, Mr. Long held supervisory and management positions in the manufacturing industry. He is in the process of completing his Bachelor of Science degree.
Prior to joining Colson, Ms. Rowan completed her MBA at ASU where she held research positions in multiple departments. She also managed an account team while at TRUE visionary marketing, a marketing strategy and communications agency, and gained advertising and design production skills from several years working within the printing industry. In this new position at Colson, Ms. Rowan will expand Colson's online presence and build and execute regional, national, and global marketing strategies.
