Iomega Corporation Teams up with Postini for 'Iomega OfficeScreen Managed Email Security and Spam Defense - Powered by Postini
Industry-Leading Anti-Spam, Anti-Virus Service Targeted For Small and Mid-Sized Businesses In The U.S. and Abroad
SAN DIEGO, June 19 - Iomega Corporation (NYSE:IOM), a global leader in storage and security solutions, today announced a partnership with Postini, a global leader in on-demand communications security and compliance solutions for email, instant messaging and the web, to bring best-in-class enterprise-level security solutions to small and mid-sized businesses around the globe.
With the agreement announced today, Iomega is now delivering Postini's security and compliance solutions to SMBs in the United States and in international markets, utilizing Iomega's strong reseller and distribution channel relationships. Beginning next month, Tech Data Corporation, a leading distributor of IT products, will offer its customers the new Iomega OfficeScreen Managed Email Security and Spam Defense -Powered by Postini®.

Today more than 93% of all electronic mail traffic consists of spam, malicious threats, or offensive material. Businesses are under siege from increasingly sophisticated networks of criminal hackers, spammers, and phishers. In addition, businesses now have to manage email communications to protect intellectual property (IP), be proactive against lawsuits, and ensure compliance with regulatory mandates, like Federal Rules of Civil Procedures (FRCP), State Information Privacy Acts, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Postini Email Security is designed to ensure that company email is free from threats and junk mail. It blocks spam, viruses, phishing, and email threats before they reach a company's email gateway, and provides sophisticated message management and policy enforcement.

Currently, Iomega s award-winning managed network security services provide small and mid-sized businesses with enterprise-quality perimeter security, site-to-site connectivity, and secure remote network access. Iomega is tailoring its new OfficeScreen Email Security product for SMBs, making it an ideal fit for the channels, giving them not only an enterprise-class solution to issues faced by millions of SMBs, but also competitive product margins and the ability to generate a new recurring revenue stream, as well as incremental business from support services.
Later this year, Iomega plans to launch additional Postini services in the U.S. and select European markets. The additional services will include solutions for archiving messages, encrypting emails and securing and managing instant messaging.
The Value of OfficeScreen to Channel Partners
The demand for anti-spam products is increasing, especially in the SMB market where many businesses are unprotected from increasingly sophisticated threats because of the considerable expense and expertise necessary to maintain a secure company network. Channel partners that were not able to meet the minimum sales requirements to qualify for Postini's direct reseller program can now resell Postini services with Iomega's OfficeScreen managed services.
Tech Data, which has more than 90,000 customers in over 100 countries, is currently preparing to sell Iomega® OfficeScreen® Managed Email Security and Spam Defense - Powered by Postini as a stand alone service as well as bundled with Iomega's other OfficeScreen managed network services, which include Juniper Networks' Firewall, IPSec site-to-site VPN, and SSL (secure socket layer) VPN solutions with VeriSign, Inc.'s two-factor authentication.
