ioSafe demonstrates its 'disaster plan in a box' solutions in spectacular fire demo in Nevada desert

AUBURN, Calif., June 13 -- ioSafe, the disaster-proof hardware company, today announced that InformationWeek reporter Sharon Gaudin called ioSafe's fire demonstration of its disaster-proof data backup hardware at Interop Las Vegas in May "the most interesting technology at the show" and "the coolest demo I've ever seen."

ioSafe hosted a number of press, partners and customers in the Nevada desert for a demonstration of its disaster recovery and business continuity solutions. During the demo, the ioSafe team took digital photos of attendees and loaded them on to the ioSafe R4 Powered by ReadyNAS, a disaster-proof disk Network Attached Storage (NAS) device. The R4 was then moved to a viewable fire chamber and torched to a temperature of 1,700 degrees Fahrenheit in a propane fireball.

After hosing down the ioSafe R4 with water and removing the four hard drives, ioSafe officials successfully restored the digital data within minutes. Steven Hill from Network Computing Magazine wrote that the demonstration was "unbelievable."

"The fire demo in Las Vegas was the first public viewing of the ioSafe technology," said Robb Moore, CEO of ioSafe. "We are excited to provide valuable technology that can eliminate the cost and pain associated with storing backups offsite. No other disaster recovery strategy combines the protection, security and low cost of ownership when compared to ioSafe. ioSafe's patented and patent pending technology combines reliable air flow cooling with proven fireproof and waterproof techniques to create aircraft 'black boxes' for critical business data storage."

About ioSafe

ioSafe provides disaster proof hardware to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery. Like an "aircraft black box," ioSafe technology applications include: disaster recovery, remote or branch office data backup, offsite tape vaulting alternative, simple small medium business data backup and simple compliance for data storage. InformationWeek called ioSafe the "most interesting technology" at the May 2007 Las Vegas Interop® trade show.
