Deep Web Technologies

Release date: March 7, 2007

Deep Web Technologies Inc. Named to 2007 KMWorld List of 100 Companies That Matter

SANTA FE, N.M., March 7, 2007 -- Deep Web Technologies, Inc. (DWT), a provider of cutting-edge federated search technology for information discovery, made its initial appearance on KMWorld's list of 100 Companies That Matter in Knowledge Management. The company also recently released an update to its Explorit(TM) Research Accelerator application reinforcing its solution strength in speed, scalability, number of concurrent users, multi-tiered relevance ranking and result presentation.

KMWorld editor in chief Hugh McKellar explains that the list is conceived as a way to recognize organizations leading the way in the knowledge economy. If there is a single trait shared by the 100 companies it is their determination to treat their entire constituency chain with respect and without hubris.

DWT founder and president Abe Lederman was pleased to hear about his company's inclusion on the list and said, "We have been working very hard to add valuable enhancements to Explorit(TM) Research Accelerator, already deployed on http://www.science.gov, to extend the gateway's access to and analysis of over 50 million pages of authoritative science information provided by U.S. government agencies, including research and development results." Last month the Science.gov Alliance announced the launch of Science.gov 4.0 with "DeepRank" for ranking across full text of documents, "refine results" for search within a result list and "email results" for enhanced collaboration. DeepRank joins MetaRank and QuickRank to complete the tiered ranking algorithm suite developed by DWT.

DWT sees its recent federated search advancements and naming to the KMWorld list as key sources of credibility and extensions of its performance edge. This is helpful in continuing its penetration into corporate libraries wanting to offer internal, subscription, surface and deep web sources to their users. DWT will lead the charge in delivering cost-effective, integrated, enterprise-wide information solutions, and establish respect as a trusted and effective strategic partner.

According to DWT's VP of Sales and Marketing, Mr. Lance Danbe, "Libraries pursuing the best information discovery for their stakeholders operate in a dynamic environment. Many questions require specialized multi-disciplinary input and it is challenging to succeed in an ever changing landscape of users, information sources, networks and enterprise architecture. Libraries need to get the most out of their subscription sources by creating highly valuable communities of like-minded users and giving them a great experience."

DWT offers a free whitepaper, "How to Maximize Your Strategic Investment in Federated Search," on its website: http://www.deepwebtech.com/whitepaper

DWT, established in 2002, provides state-of-the-art software solutions for information discovery that search, retrieve, aggregate and analyze content from web-based databases inaccessible to Google-type search engines. Deployments include a Fortune 50 company, the Science.gov Alliance, multiple Department of Energy applications, the Defense Technical Information Center and other customers. DWT received the 2005 and 2006 Flying 40 award for the fastest growing high-tech companies in New Mexico.
