Microsoft Lists NCP IPsec VPN Client as the First Final Client for Vista
NCP Secure Entry Client v. 9.0 is Officially Windows Vista Compatible
NUEREMBERG, Germany, February 19 - NCP engineering GmbH releases the new version of its Secure Entry Client, version 9.0. Microsoft has officially confirmed the software to be Vista compatible. Thus NCP is the first manufacturer that has an IPsec VPN client for Windows Vista in the final version. At the URL http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929490/en-us a list is provided of all third-party providers of VPN clients whose products have been tested for Vista compatibility. The compatibility confirmation applies for the NCP Secure Entry Client v. 9.0.
The NCP Secure Entry Client is a communication software product for universal implementation in any remote access VPN environment. With version 9.0 the user interface has been visually adapted to the new Windows operating system without changing the relationship between the icons and the functional sequence of connection set up and authentication that has proven itself in practice.
The software offers extensive security functions: IPsec encryption with AES or 3-DES, IPCOMP data compression, extended authentication (Xauth, EAP), support for digital certificates and hardware tokens, an integrated Stateful Inspection firewall with situation-dependent firewall rules, and "Friendly Net Detection" for automatic detection of secure and non-secure networks. In addition, the Client has an intelligent automated WLAN mechanism that activates the appropriate profile for the currently present WLAN in background, for instance at a hotspot.
In addition to Windows Vista, NCP Secure Entry Clients support the Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems. Thus uniform configurations and security measures can be set up under all operating systems.
