Splunk Demonstrates IT Search for Security and Compliance at RSA
Arkoon, Juniper Networks, IronPort, Proofpoint and Wildpackets Chime In
RSA, BOOTH #2649, SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 5 -- Splunk, creators of the original IT Search engine, today announced they will be demonstrating IT Search working with top security and compliance vendors at RSA. Splunk will show the power of IT Search to help customers meet security and compliance requirements working with Arkoon, Juniper Networks, IronPort, Proofpoint, Inc. and Wildpackets at the Splunk booth #2649.
Splunk can index any type of logs and IT data by sampling and learning formats automatically. System administrators and security analysts can search and navigate server logs, firewall events and IDS alerts to investigate potential incidents in real time. Compliance analysts and auditors can review, report and achieve long-term retention of data from every component in the data center.
Data center professionals know that logs and IT data play a key role in security and compliance mandates and policies. The issue they face is that ad hoc access to the information is difficult to get or often denied to the people that need it and seeing relationships between data from different technologies is often impossible.
"IT Search used in conjunction with our DX load balancing and application acceleration platform allows customers to see end-user and server response times, in real time, providing more efficient management and troubleshooting, while giving them the ability to track and monitor SLAs," said Satya Vardharajan, product line manager at Juniper Networks.
"Splunk has made our daily log review a lot easier because of its automated event typing and intelligent grouping of events," said Steve Loyd, VP of Information Technology and Security at Intraware, a provider of Web-based electronic license and software delivery and management solutions. "Splunk's cut the time it takes for us to do this from an average of an hour a day down to 10-20 minutes most days."
