CIBER Inc. Release date: December 18, 2006
$19 Million Fulton County Schools SAP Contract Goes to CIBER Georgia School District One of Top 50 Largest Districts in Nation ATLANTA, Ga. - Dec. 18, 2006 - CIBER, Inc. (NYSE: CBR) has won a $19 million contract with Fulton County Schools (FCS) of Georgia to replace its current aging information technology system with an SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The new system will help FCS reduce paperwork and eliminate redundant processes to more effectively and efficiently deliver positive learning experiences to its more than 83,000 students.
CIBER will serve as prime contractor for the project and, with its partner, Atlanta-based EPI-USE, will implement and integrate SAP Human Capital Management, SAP Financials, and SAP Logistics, Plant Maintenance, Project Systems, Core Materials Management, and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) solutions. These solutions, which include applications for (among others) payroll, benefits administration, personnel administration, general ledger, accounts payable, purchasing, and contract management, will enable FCS to use one IT system to track nearly all of its operational needs, thereby offering seamless integration of data and business processes for all departments and personnel in the organization.
CIBER will also integrate a document imaging application created by SAP and IXOS, which will help the school system store documents electronically, reducing the demand for paper, printers, file cabinets, and storage space.
"It's exciting to be part of the team that is re-engineering Fulton's business process toward the same excellence that Fulton has come to expect," said Charles Sipos, FCS Project Manager.
The project is a major initiative which will significantly streamline operations and increase business process efficiencies. Since the system will provide many features and tools to support the new operations, CIBER will employ its change management methodology to train staff on how to maximize their use of the system and adapt to the new business processes.
Implementation of the first phase, which began in October, will be completed during fourth quarter of 2007. The second phase, which includes extended product functionality, such as Employee Self-Service, Manager Self-Service, e-Recruiting, and SRM applications, will be implemented during third quarter of 2008.
"We're honored that FCS recognized CIBER's technical leadership and industry expertise for this important project," said Dr. Michael Hildreth, Vice President of CIBER's K -12 Education Practice. "FCS is making a critical investment in its infrastructure and is embracing industry best practices. These actions will help it achieve and perhaps exceed its goals of providing high-quality, effective, and efficient learning experiences to students."
Dr. Hildreth brings more than 30 years of experience in management, information systems strategy, planning, operations, customer service, and staff and line management in the K-12 setting.
Fulton County Schools is the fourth largest school district in Georgia and the 47th largest in the nation. It encompasses the area of Fulton County outside Atlanta city limits. FCS serves more than 83,000 students and employs more than 11,000 staff and faculty in 90 schools and 15 administrative and support buildings.
