New SANYO Easy Street Portable Navigation Systems Get You There in Style

NVM-4070 Has Touch Screen, Bluetooth®, Traffic Message Channel and Music/Video Playback; Affordable and Compact NVM-4050 System Also Debuts

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8 -- CES Central Hall Booth #11017 -- It's easy to find your way every day with the advanced new SANYO "Easy Street" NVM-4070 and very affordable NVM-4050 compact portable navigation systems.

The feature-packed SANYO Easy Street NVM-4070 offers a bright and easily viewable 4-inch LCD touch screen display for simplified, button-free navigation. Voice-guided turn-by-turn directions and detailed two and three- dimensional maps are included. The NVM-4070 uses the latest text-to-speech technology which calls out street names as turns approach. Along with a built- in GPS antenna and 2GB of internal NAND flash memory containing map data for the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, The NVM-4070 includes over 1.7 million points of interest. The NVM-4070 is equipped to receive data from the Traffic Message Channel, which reports accidents, road construction and other incidents that can affect traffic. The NVM-4070 graphically displays those incidents as icons on the navigation map*.

Users can experience safer, hands-free calling when they use the NVM-4070 with a Bluetooth-equipped mobile phone. And when "off duty" as a navigation device, the whole family can enjoy MP3 and WMA music playback, view JPEG images in the Photo Viewer and even watch MPEG/Divx movies with 4070's built- in Video Player. A convenient memory card slot lets users store multimedia files on SD or MMC memory cards (memory card not included).

SANYO's NVM-4070 Easy Street navigation system uses Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) technology to help you get to your desired destination with exceptional reliability. WAAS is comprised of satellites and ground stations that provide corrections to GPS signals for greater accuracy compared to conventional GPS solutions.

"SANYO is an established leader in portable navigation in Japan and is a rapidly-growing brand in other markets," said John Lamb, Senior Marketing Manager for SANYO's Audio Video Division. "The new Easy Street line of portable navigation systems demonstrates SANYO's commitment to develop easy- to-use, feature-rich products designed specifically for U.S. consumers."

People who own Bluetooth equipped mobile phones can benefit from the safety and convenience of hands-free calling with the SANYO NVM-4070. Whether placing outgoing calls or receiving them, the NVM-4070 can access the user's Bluetooth equipped cell phone even if the phone is buried in the bottom of a purse, stuck in the driver's pocket or located virtually anywhere within the car. You can even use Bluetooth to wirelessly upload MP3s and JPEG data from your phone to the NVM-4070 for storage and playback.

Simply add your phone contacts (up to 500) to Easy Street's built-in Contact List database and you'll never be without your most used numbers. The hands-free feature allows you to enjoy your conversation while helping you to keep your eyes safely on the road.

The exceptionally versatile SANYO NVM-4070 is more than compact enough to be transported easily from vehicle to vehicle as needed. Just slide it into a coat pocket, purse or backpack and take it wherever you go.

The new SANYO Easy Street NVM-4050 is an exceptionally versatile yet affordable portable navigation system. Designed to deliver dependable performance and superior convenience, the NVM-4050 offers a bright and easily viewable 4-inch LCD touch screen display for simplified, button-free navigation. Voice-guided turn-by-turn directions and detailed two and three- dimensional maps are included. The NVM-4050 uses the latest text-to-speech technology which calls out street names as turns approach. Along with a built- in GPS antenna and 2GB of internal NAND flash memory containing map data for the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, The NVM-4050 includes over 1.7 million points of interest.
