Hockey, Basketball, Baseball, Golf Fans Will Find Their Sports on FiOS TV

NEW YORK, Dec. 4 -- Verizon today announced a programming- distribution agreement with Comcast for Comcast SportsNet-Philadelphia and Comcast SportsNet-Philadelphia HD. Verizon will carry the channels in its all-digital FiOS TV Premier package in its Pennsylvania, Delaware and southern New Jersey TV markets. In addition, Verizon is making other Comcast sports and entertainment channels available throughout its FiOS TV footprint. Verizon now offers Versus (formerly OLN), and in the next several weeks will add PBS KIDS Sprout, a 24-hour network for preschoolers aged 2-5.

Comcast SportsNet-Philadelphia provides local sports coverage including live game action for the National Hockey League's Philadelphia Flyers, the National Basketball Association's Philadelphia 76ers and Major League Baseball's Philadelphia Phillies.

"We know that Philly sports fans are passionate about their teams and expect their TV provider to carry all the action," said Terry Denson, vice president of FiOS TV content strategy and acquisition. "Now, they'll be able to watch their teams and outstanding children's programming in a whole new light on FiOS TV and enjoy the tremendous picture quality that FiOS delivers."

As the result of separate agreements completed earlier this year with Comcast, Verizon already carries Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic in its FiOS TV markets in Virginia and Maryland and The Golf Channel throughout its eight- state FiOS TV footprint.

Verizon delivers FiOS TV over the nation's most comprehensive all-digital fiber network. Only Verizon's FiOS network has earned the certification of the independent Fiber to the Home Council for providing fiber all the way to customers' homes.

FiOS TV is now available in parts of California, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia, and will soon be available in parts of Delaware and New Jersey. FiOS TV's Premier package provides 200 all-digital channels, access to 4,000 on-demand programs and advanced features such as FiOS TV Widgets and Home Media DVR.
