Recently, when Clark-Cutler-McDermott Company needed a way to secure and level a new R+S Technik GmbH, single tool die, forming and trimming station press, an AirLoc Wedgmount system was selected. The insulator parts produced at a rate of 180 panels per hour are used for the rear of the cab in a new 2007 GMT 900 pick-up truck model.
Four AirLoc 2024.2-VRKC Wedgmounts with self aligning spherical seats were used to support and level each press section with the forming press station producing 79.1 tons and trimming press station 282.5 tons of clamping pressure during the part transfer, single tool die operations. The eight support points (one shown below) were leveled to within .001 inches per foot to provide the precise alignment needed in this two stage press operation. The ease of attachment, with spherical seat alignment and height adjustment for the AirLoc Wedgmounts made this part of the installation easy.
