GE Energy Signs Contractual Parts Agreement For Exelon's Boiling Water Reactor Fleet


ATLANTA, GA.-October 20, 2006-GE Energy announced today that it has signed a contractual parts agreement with Exelon Nuclear of Warrenville, Ill., servicing a fleet of boiling water reactor (BWR) nuclear units, including one of the oldest operating nuclear plants in the United States, Oyster Creek Generating Station, and one of the newest, Clinton Power Station. This is the largest number of BWR nuclear plants ever to enter into a contractual parts agreement with GE Energy for Reuter Stokes nuclear instrumentation.

The 12 units included in the parts agreement collectively produce 12,174 megawatt- hours annually. The plants include Exelon's Dresden Units 2 and 3, LaSalle Units 1 and 2, Quad Cities Units 1 and 2, Limerick Units 1 and 2, Peach Bottom Units 2 and 3, Clinton and Oyster Creek. The contract extends over a period of six years for the supply of in-core neutron monitoring instrumentation to support the operations of Exelon's BWR fleet.
