HOLMDEL, N.J., Oct. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Vonage America Inc., a subsidiary of Vonage Holdings Corp. (NYSE: VG - News), a leading provider of broadband telephone service, today announced that it now offers local area code selection in Bonita Springs, Cape Coral, Clermont, Gainesville, Inverness, Leesburg and Milton, Florida. Furthermore, the company has also added new rate centers within the state, allowing customers to further localize their telephone number.
High-speed Internet subscribers working and residing in the Sunshine State can now take advantage of Vonage's broadband phone service, featuring unlimited local and long distance calling and popular features like call waiting, call forwarding and voicemail for one low, flat monthly rate. Vonage customers working and residing near the University of Florida or in Lake and Santa Rosa Counties can now keep their current numbers or choose telephone numbers within the popular (352), (239) and (850) area codes. Making their lives even simpler, Vonage allows its customers to personally control the way they communicate. No longer do they need to call their phone company when they want to make changes to their accounts, all they need to do is logon to their personal account and customize their phone service to meet their own needs.
A rate center is the geographic area used for issuing phone numbers. There can be many rate centers within one area code. This expansion offers subscribers the opportunity to further localize their telephone number, as they are now able to select numbers from towns more representative of their geographic location or maintain their own phone number within their own popular are code. The new rate centers offered within the state of Florida include: Hobe Sound, Jensen Beach and Sebastian, and are all within the (352) area code. The company also added the following rate centers within the (386) area code: Deland and Daytona Beach. Vonage continues to offer area code selection throughout the following Florida locations: Boynton Beach, Cape Canaveral, Clearwater, Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Myers, Jacksonville, Key Largo, Key West, Kissimmee, Lakehurst, Miami, Orlando, Pensacola, Port St. Lucie, St. Petersburg and Tampa.
