Thomas Industrial Network

Release date: August 17, 2006

NEW YORK, August 17, 2006 - In its continuing efforts to provide customers with the information they need quickly and efficiently, Swagelok Company has worked with ThomasNet.com to provide detailed drawings of its product configurations via Swagelok.com and through ThomasNet.com.

Users will now be able to quickly download sales drawings along with previously available 2-D and 3-D CAD templates via either site. "Before, a customer would request a drawing, which was then created manually," said Thomas J. Gubanc, director of e-Business and knowledge management at Swagelok. "Today, these drawings are immediately available to customers over the Web. Sales drawings are valuable to engineers for accuracy and documentation; quick access to the drawings will make it easier for them to complete their designs."

What's more, the sales drawings and CAD templates are presented in such a way that they work seamlessly with the rest of Swagelok's Web site content. Users still search for products via a direct ordering number, or by searching through product categories, until the needed product is reached. But now, once the product is located, the Web site user can download a sales drawing directly.

"Users will appreciate the consistent look and feel of the Web site and the ease of use because everything is now available in one place," added Gubanc. For instance, a designer who needs a 3-D CAD template to embed into a product or system model can now use the 2-D sales drawing to confirm his or her order and the receipt of the correct item.

"Engineers and buyers from a variety of industrial markets have specific needs for detailed, technical product information relevant to their business," said Erik Mikisch, vice president, business development, ThomasNet. "Our relationship significantly enhances Swagelok's ability to deliver a wealth of resources to prospects, customers, and distributors in leading industries."

ThomasNet (www.ThomasNet.com) is the preferred destination site for industrial buyers. ThomasNet.com is where they go to find the exact product, service, or supplier they need, when they're ready to buy. ThomasNet.com gives buyers immediate access to the detailed information they need to make a purchasing or specifying decision, including detailed product or service information, catalogs, CAD drawings, and more. ThomasNet is part of Thomas Industrial Network, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Thomas Publishing Company, LLC.

Headquartered in Solon, Ohio, U.S.A., Swagelok Company is a major developer and provider of fluid system solutions, including products, assemblies, and services for the research, instrumentation, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, power, petrochemical, alternative fuels, and semiconductor industries. Its manufacturing, research, technical support, and distribution facilities support a global network of more than 200 authorized sales and service centers in 54 countries.
