ND SatCom Delivers its 250th SNG Vehicle
Milestone in Satellite News Gathering
Friedrichshafen, August 2, 2006 - ND SatCom, an SES ASTRA company and a leading global supplier of satellite-based broadband VSAT, broadcast and defence communications network solutions, recently delivered its 250th SNG vehicle. This marks a major milestone in the company's history. "Our SNG vehicles are operated in more than 40 countries worldwide. In Europe, we are the leading supplier of SNG technology", states Dr. Karl Classen, Chairman & CEO of ND SatCom. ND SatCom's SNG vehicles have experienced overwhelming success throughout the last few years. The company has been awarded projects ranging from small uplink vehicles for fast news reporting or live sports productions up to big production SNGs with camera and cutting facilities.
Since its launch in 2004, ND SatCom's SkyRAY Compact series has become a standard antenna subsystem for ND SatCom SNG uplinks. It specifically caters to broadcasters and media customers and combines the need for a powerful uplink with the smart dimensions of a roof-top-box which can be mounted on most vehicles. The carbon fiber casing accommodates a high performance 1.5m antenna. Like the SkyRAY series, several SNG components are developed and manufactured at ND SatCom. The Antenna Control Units and Mounts as well as High Power Amplifiers and Redundancy Control Units have field proven to be extremely reliable. Additional features such as the Automatic Pointing System, which is the easiest Automatic Satellite Access System available on the market, were developed by ND SatCom engineers.
