Visual Marking Systems, Inc. Release date: May 8, 2006
Twinsburg, OH - Visual Marking Systems, Inc. is further expanding its digital manufacturing capabilities with the recent purchase of a Spyder 320+, the newest large-format flatbed digital press by Inca Digital. The press is scheduled to arrive at VMS in late August 2006 and is expected to be servicing customer needs in early September 2006.
The Spyder 320+ digital press offers options and benefits unmatched by others in its class. The press, which boasts a 126 x 63 inch bed, can produce finished parts up to 120 x 60 inches printed edge-to-edge. And with the ability to print directly onto a wide variety of both flexible and rigid substrates up to 1.2 inches thick, there are endless application possibilities for this new digital printing technology. The press utilizes the latest generation of Sericol's Uvijet four-color ink set, which provides vibrant color as well as excellent adhesion and flexibility. At up to 1,000 dpi, the printer provides exceptional definition making it ideal for graphic applications that require close-up viewing. In addition, the press provides unsurpassed lenticular printing capability as well as the capacity to print-and-flip to create double sided graphics to within 0.05mm positional accuracy. The Spyder 320+ will be the newest addition to VMS' digital manufacturing capabilities, positioning the company to remain a leading innovator in the OEM Product Identification, Fleet Graphic and Transit Signage markets. VMS currently runs a narrow format HP Indigo Digital Press allowing customers to enjoy an attractive cost savings on high quality, small quantity parts. The addition of the large format Spyder 320+ will allow VMS to extend the same low cost and exceptional quality to customers on large parts and/or on items that utilize rigid or otherwise unique substrates like metal or glass.
"We are looking forward to the innumerable benefits that this new press will afford us and our customers. The cost savings associated with minimal set-up requirements, low material waste, and the overall flexibility of this piece of equipment is staggering," says Ron Gizzo, Director of Research and Development for VMS. "The convenience and capabilities of the Spyder press will undoubtedly take the design, production and application of product identification and signage to a new level."
