2006 Kitchen Line Demonstrates Quality, Performance and Product Leadership
CHICAGO, April 21 -- Redefining expectations for technology, performance and style in the most-used room in the home, LG Electronics has launched its complete, full-kitchen line of appliances, available for the first time to the U.S. market.
On display at the 2006 Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (Booth #7516, North Hall) here this week, the company's 'full-kitchen' portfolio encompasses ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers and microwave ovens -- advancing LG's position as a leader in the premium major appliance category.

"This is another important LG milestone as we strive to deliver advanced functionality, products and solutions for consumers, and help define the future of the home appliance industry in the United States and abroad."
Ranges
The new LG Electric Range delivers superior cooking versatility with added convenience, making it easier than ever to achieve great cooking results. With a 5.6-cubic foot capacity, it is one of the largest ovens available on the market, providing the space needed for large family dinners, entertaining and special events. The premium, blue interior, large-capacity oven fits in the standard 30-inch footprint, so no kitchen modifications are needed.
The LG Range offers a variety of advanced options, including:o EvenJet Plus(TM) - an advanced new convection system that distributes air evenly throughout the oven for better cooking performanceo IntuiTouch(TM) Digital Controls - easy to navigate control system that groups cook top and oven functions in a logical, user-friendly formato Expandable heating elements (6- to 12-inches) to accommodate different sized pots and panso Warming or storage drawer optiono True color glass-top surface for easy cleaningo Extra large WideView(TM) oven windowo Contoured handles on oven door provide polished looko Split-Rack feature provides more flexibility when cooking large quantitieso Smart oven light eliminates guesswork by flashing when the preheating process is complete
Featuring a sleek, sophisticated design, the LG Range is available in a variety of finishes to suit any kitchen style and match other LG appliances, including smooth white, smooth black and stainless steel, at a manufacturer's suggested retail price ranging from $949 to $1,399.
Dishwashers
In addition to being among the quietest dishwashers on the market (48 decibels), the LG Dishwasher line features an extra large stainless steel tub with one of the largest capacities available in the U.S. -- fitting 16 place settings, versus the standard 12 or 14 offered by competitive models. Designed to match any kitchen, as well as other LG appliances, this line sports a sleek, sophisticated design and is available in semi- and fully- integrated models. The semi-integrated models feature controls and a digital display on the outside door, while the fully-integrated versions have an optional digital display on the outside door and controls hidden on top for a more 'polished' look.
As with all LG appliances, the company's dishwasher line is also energy- efficient and low in water consumption. The products feature the SenseClean(TM) washing system with unique turbidity sensors to determine the number of rinses needed, and a half-load cleaning option to allow for washing in either the upper or lower deck to conserve water and electricity. Adjustable racks further enhance product versatility and enable large, odd- shaped items to fit in a variety of spaces. Other features include:o Wide LED display for easy viewingo Removable, fold-down tineso Adjustable upper rack, from 10- to 12-inches (Bottom rack measures 12- to 14-inches dependent of top rack setting)o Three separate cutlery baskets, that can be combined into one if desiredo Three water settings (strong, normal and soft) for various types of washingo Hybrid Drying System(TM) for reduced spotting

Microwave Ovens
LG's microwave oven offerings are available in both over-the-range and countertop combination models, ensuring consumers the perfect fit for their kitchen. Key design features such as contoured handles and stainless steel finishes that wrap around the sides of the microwave create a 'polished' look.
Offering a 2.0-cubic foot capacity, one of LG's over-the-range models also feature LG's Glide 'n Cook(TM) system -- a unique sliding tray that maximizes cooking space and promotes even cooking. The product also incorporates an easy-to-reach Monitor(TM) look control panel placed across the bottom of the unit. It features 1,100 watts of power, 300 CFM's of ventilation and a melt/soften function for various cooking needs. Models include two halogen cook top lights and WideView(TM) windows for easier viewing. This model (LMVM2055) is available in stainless steel, smooth white or smooth black at a manufacturer's suggested retail price ranging from $399 to $449. Other over- the-range additions include:o Model LMV2053 - Offers a 2.0-cubic foot capacity, along with 1,100 watts of power, a melt/soften function for various cooking needs and Sensor Cook technology, which senses moisture levels to determine when cooking is finished, and automatically turns the oven off. Models also include a halogen cook top light. Available Q1 2006, at a manufacturer's suggested retail price ranging from $299 to $349.o Model LMVH1750ST - Features a 1.7-cubic foot capacity, along with 950 watts of power for the microwave and 1,500 for the convection oven, providing consumers with the convenience of having a second oven. A stainless steel cavity and Sensor Cook technology help deliver a more evenly cooked dish. Models also include a halogen cook top light and WideView windows. Available now, at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $599.o Model LMV1630 - Offers a 1.6-cubic foot capacity, 1,000 watts of power, and an option to activate the turntable, meeting various cooking needs. Models also feature bright cook top lights. Available now, at a manufacturer's suggested retail price ranging from $199 to $249.
Also available, and ideal for small kitchens, apartments and work places, are LG's combination countertop microwave products that free-up valuable counter space and save consumers time with multi-tasking capabilities. The LG Combination Microwave/Toaster boasts a sleek design, features a two-slice toaster with nine browning levels, a horizontal keypad and is has .9 cubic feet of capacity.
The microwave has 900 watts of power, and the toaster delivers 800 watts power. It is available now in stainless steel with a manufacturer's suggested retail price ranging from $129 to $139. The LG Combination Microwave/Coffeemaker is 1.2 cubic feet delivering 1,200 watts of power in the microwave, a 14.25-inch turntable and a two-line scroll display. The coffee system includes a replaceable 33-ounce coffee carafe, an automatic coffee timer with auto shut-off after one-hour brewing, and can brew coffee at one of three temperatures (High: 179 degrees F, Medium: 165 degrees F, Low: 147 degrees F). The unit is available now in stainless steel at a manufacturer's suggested retail price ranging from $169 to $179.99.
