K-Tron to Introduce New Feeder Controls and BSP Feeder Models and Highlight PCS Vacuum Conveying, Colormax Auxiliary Equipment at NPE, Booth 1158
PITMAN, NJ (February 28, 2006) - The K-Tron Process Group will introduce new KCM feeder controls, the new K-Vision operator interface, new additions to the Bulk Solids Pump Feeder line, and highlight K-Tron Pneumatic Conveying (PCS) solutions and Colormax auxiliary equipment at NPE, June 19-23, in Booth 1158 (South Hall).
For resin production, compounding and extrusion applications, the K-Tron Process Group will feature the newest additions to the Bulk Solids Pump feeder line: the BSP-135 and BSP-150P. The BSP feeders are specifically engineered to provide gentle, precise feeding of free-flowing pellets, granules, flakes, powders and friable products utilizing a patented principle called positive displacement feeding. The BSP-135 features three feeding ducts and will replace the BSP-125, which had two ducts, extending the feed rate range to 155 cubic ft/hr (4400 cubic dm/hr). The BSP-150P features a plastic feeder body constructed of carbon reinforced PBT, giving it excellent strength and durability and allowing it to be economically priced. It features five feeding ducts and can feed from 1.8 to 318 cu ft/hr (46 to 9000 cu. dm/hr).
The K-Tron booth will feature a special hands-on controls display that will allow visitors to try out all of the operator interface options for the new K-Tron Control Module (KCM) feeder controls. The KCM harmonizes the full functionality of the two previous levels of SmartConnex(TM) controls into a single compact new housing, offering more flexibility and even better performance. K-Tron will also introduce a new multiple feeder / single line operator interface for the KCM, called K-Vision, which is available in multiple languages, including Chinese, and includes a quad screen feature.
The newly expanded K-Tron PCS Pneumatic Conveying (PCS) Line (formerly called Hurricane) will also be showcased in a fully operational demo including three operating vacuum receivers showing the variety of materials that each model can handle. The K-Tron PCS batch weigh receiver will also be on display. The conveyor/ weigher package combines a vacuum conveying system with accurate weighing and provides accurate batching of ingredients for loading mixers or bulk bin filling.
K-Tron will also exhibit the newly enhanced KT12 Micro Feeder, designed for processors requiring feed rates as low as 20 grams/hour. Other highlights include the Quick Change feeder with Shear hopper and a Smart Weigh Belt feeder.
For molding applications, K-Tron Colormax will feature the Multi Weigh Gravimetric Blender and the Multi Flow Volumetric Blender, for high accuracy blending of up to four different materials. Synchronized feeding of all components ensures a constant blend, avoiding layering and the need for an additional mixing device. For feeding applications in the molding industry, K-Tron Colormax will display the Posimax additive feeder and the Micro Feeder B110. Other equipment on display from K-Tron Colormax includes the Pulsomax series Sight Glass Loaders, designed to provide a cost effective means of loading small quantities of materials directly into the process machine, allowing for fast material changes.
