Printronix, Inc.

Release date: November 29, 2005

Inventor of Line-Matrix Printing Technology Introduces P7000H and P7000ZT Series

IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 29 / -- Printronix Inc. (NASDAQ:PTNX), the leading integrated supply-chain printing solutions manufacturer, today completed its planned roll out of the P7000 line-matrix technology platform worldwide and introduced two printer families, the P7000H and P7000ZT series, designed for Asian markets and more efficient forms handling.

"Our Leadership By Design brand and product strategy is delivering again with the geographic expansion of the P7000 platform and an array of new models and options," said Andrew V. Scherz, director, line-matrix product marketing, Printronix. "These new printer models offer the same core product attributes of enhanced reliability, lower cost of operation and higher-quality print, resulting in increased consumable life, enhanced ease of use and investment protection."

Printronix introduced the P7000 platform in July to the Americas, the European Union, the Middle East and Africa. With today's expansion, users in China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam now can acquire the P7000 platform and its new models. The P7000H Series prints at a higher resolution to accommodate the complexities and nuances of character shapes found in many Asian languages. In addition, the new P7000ZT Series enables users to print from the first to the last line on a form, and then tear off the form without any form loss.

These new models include many convenient accessories, such as an option that allows all media to be loaded and retrieved from the front of the printer for easy access. In addition, an acoustic shroud for pedestal models is available, which reduces printing noise, making it more suitable for use in office environments.

Line-matrix printing is Printronix's heritage technology, and it remains the most cost-effective workhorse solution for manufacturing, supply-chain and back-office printing applications because of its reliability and lowest total cost of ownership. The company's P7000 line-matrix platform is the evolution of its more than 30-year history of offering the highest-quality products, a range of customer-focused solutions, and unsurpassed service and support. Encompassing a host of technology advancements, the P7000 line matrix printing platform features the lowest service cost, least expensive cost per printed page, easiest user experience and longest-lasting ribbon available.

The P7000 is available today for immediate order taking and delivery worldwide. The platform, including the new P7000H and P7000ZT series, are available from Printronix or through Printronix's resellers, distributors and systems integrators.
