Polyvision Corp., A Steelcase Co.

Release date: January 19, 2006

Ninth Annual Wreath, Menorah & Stocking Event by Steelcase Reaches Great Heights with Thunder(TM), PolyVision's New Enterprise Collaboration Product

NEW YORK, Jan. 19 / -- PolyVision Corporation, a Steelcase Company (NYSE:SCS) and the world leader in visual communication products, captured the audience at Steelcase's annual holiday celebration -- the Wreath, Menorah & Stocking Event with the world's most innovative collaboration tool, Thunder.

Each year, Steelcase holds the annual charity event supporting the NAC, an agency whose exclusive mission is to serve severely disabled and chronically ill children. The theme of this year's event was the tradition of songs, stories, and fairy tales that surround the holiday season with magic. To officially kick-off the festivities, children from NAC were invited to the Steelcase showroom the evening before the event for a children's party. The young attendees had an opportunity during the gathering to use PolyVision's Thunder system, recently installed at the Steelcase showroom in New York, to create their own artwork related to the fairy tales theme.

On the night of the event, architectural and design firms in the New York area were invited to compete in a design competition, with a specific set of design criteria and specifications. Editors from design publications judged the entries in three of the categories including the overall winner. The children had the opportunity to choose winners for "What Makes Me Most Happy" and "Tastes the Best" categories, providing an opportunity for them to make an impact on the outcome. Five winners were chosen with one being the overall winner. This year's coveted first place prize went to JJ Falk Design Inc. for their "Light Box Menorah."

"This year's event was truly a success with over 900 attendees and over 60 entries," said Rick Morris, Area Sales Manager of Steelcase. "We strive to inspire creative and innovative thinking in this competition each year, so we were pleased to have our sister organization, PolyVision, as part of this year's event. Incorporating Thunder also allowed us to demonstrate our own innovations."

During the event, the winners' work was displayed to attendees via PolyVision's Thunder, the groundbreaking system that redefines the collaborative process. Thunder surrounded attendees with visual images of the winning entries and the children's creations adding a new twist to the annual event.

"We have combined the most innovative and effective technologies to create Thunder," said Mike Dunn, President and CEO of PolyVision. "We knew Thunder would allow the event to showcase the A&D firms' award winning work and the children's artwork in a new, exciting way, and we were thrilled with the overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees about Thunder's capabilities."

Like all of PolyVision's products, Thunder is designed to be simple to use, while providing the essential environment and tools to work or learn together, regardless of physical location.

o Thunder is as easy to use as a flip chart, with a participant jotting notes and drawings onto a "page" with a stylus or finger.

o Multiple pages are "posted" -- projected -- onto the wall in high-resolution, allowing all of the information to remain visible to all participants, just like posting flipcharts.

o With the touch of an icon, participants from other meetings, classrooms, or even other countries can join another Thunder meeting, see all of their posted information, exchange data, and share ideas -- regardless of physical location.

o Each session created in the meeting is saved on the system, with auto-numbering, and can be displayed, edited, retrieved, printed, or emailed; allowing users to leave a meeting or class knowing their information has been captured.
