Oracle Corp.

Release date: September 19, 2005

More than 1000 Register in Oracle(R) 'OFF SAP' Program

ORACLE OPENWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Oracle(R) (NASDAQ:ORCL) today announced that customers worldwide continue to migrate and select Oracle applications over SAP.

Companies such as Aloes Industria e Comercio, Arabian Automobile Company, LLC, Baxters Food, DeAngelo Brothers, Dendreon, Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Garden of Life, Gianni Versace, Group Voyager Inc, Ingersoll Rand, McData, NamyangAloe, NCH, New Age Electronics, Remy Corporation, SITA, Swedish Defense Material Administration, Tabnor, Tecumesh, Telenor, USA Technologies, Usinas Nova America, UTStarcom, Welch Foods and York Water, are investing in the future with Oracle in an effort to better manage their organization with greater business insight and process automation, delivered by Oracle's open, standards-based software. They are moving to the Oracle's unique offering of applications and technology, which make it easier for customers to standardize business practices, develop service-oriented architectures and consolidate their information systems.

In addition, Oracle confirmed that in only four months more than 1000 SAP R/3 customers have registered in the Oracle Fusion for SAP -- or "OFF SAP" -- program, which was designed to deliver value to organizations looking to switch to Oracle applications. Faced with the challenge and cost of re-licensing and re-implementing their applications in order to upgrade from R/3 to mySAP ERP or mySAP Business Suite, these companies are exploring the Oracle OFF SAP program offer and have expressed interest in migrating from legacy SAP to Oracle applications.

Why OFF SAP?

SAP customers show particular interest in leveraging the new Oracle program to help save money, reduce complexity and improve the quality of business information by migrating to Oracle's open, standards-based applications. Only Oracle is building next-generation applications using the latest standards, such as Java (J2EE), enabling customers to operate in the most secure, scalable and low-cost environments.

Key areas of customer interest in "OFF SAP" include:

oLicense credit-Oracle offers up to a 100% license credit for SAP R/3 customers that switch from SAP to Oracle applications. oEase of migration-Oracle Consulting created an INSIGHT for SAP Migration program that provides R/3 customers with a clear understanding of the migration process and benefits. o Reduced upfront costs-Oracle Financing offers a two-year payment plan for the application license and support fees, with no interest and no payments for six months, followed by six installments. o Information integration-Only Oracle's information architecture allows customers to run one global model and instance, which frees R/3 customers from the challenge of accessing and integrating fragmented data from legacy systems based in ABAP language.

"We understand that customers want open systems that do more than simply automate processes, which are not of value if they cannot deliver the right business information and insight to a decision-maker at the right time," said Oracle President, Charles Phillips. "The SAP customers who have moved to Oracle already, and the 800 that want to know more about our compelling offer, understand that SAP will charge them for upgrades and take them through multiple upgrades to get to a services-based architecture over the next several years. Oracle can get them there today."

The flexibility of Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Middleware simplify and reduce the costs of integration with business suppliers, customers and partners, and allows Oracle customers. Oracle users also cite the advantages of Oracle's award-winning, global support organization, which provides cost-effective options for software maintenance and delivery, such as Oracle On Demand. SAP customers can learn more about the Oracle Fusion for SAP program and business benefits by calling Oracle directly at 1-800-ORACLE-1.

Terms, conditions and restrictions apply. The payment terms specified herein are available solely to qualified customers upon credit and documentation approval from Oracle Financing, and may not be available in all markets.
