Press release date: May 6, 2010

Winona, MN - May 6th, 2010 - Fastenal [Nasdaq: FAST] has completed its 13th Customer Industrial & Construction Expo. Held at Fastenal's master distribution center in Indianapolis, the three-day event brought together more than 4,500 Fastenal customers, suppliers and employees for an opportunity to learn about new product solutions and more efficient ways of doing business.

Customers were able to demo the latest industrial products offered by nearly 175 of Fastenal's top suppliers. Fastenal also demonstrated the many services it provides to support its product lines, including custom parts manufacturing and cold heading.

Additionally, more than 2,200 people toured the distribution center's newly-implemented automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), designed to expand Fastenal's overnight service range; and more than 800 attended the on-site cost savings seminar led by Fastenal's lean supply chain specialists. "The whole show exceeded anything I expected and was every bit as impressive as it was informative and fun," said Justin Cather, a procurement commodity manager for Shiloh Industries. "If it was Fastenal's goal to 'wow' its customers and display a wide range of capabilities, then that goal was definitely achieved with flying colors."

"I continue to be amazed at the breadth and depth of Fastenal's product offerings," added Chris Watson, manufacturing engineer for Larson Manufacturing. "The vendors were extremely helpful in answering all of our questions, and the distribution center tour was excellent. The opportunity to watch the ASRS system in action was the highlight of the entire trip."

According to event organizers, the expo was a success for suppliers and customers alike, who were able to network and gain a better understanding of all facets of Fastenal.
