Collaboration helps customer reduce annual costs by more than $250,000
St. Paul, Minn. - June 7, 2010 - 3M and industrial distributor, Replenex, announce they have received the 2010 American Eagle Value-Added Partner Award presented by the Industrial Supply Association.
The annual award recognizes true partnership between one manufacturer and one distributor working together to show exceptional documented cost savings of productivity improvements for an end user.
The customer, New Flyer Industries (NFI), North America's leading manufacturer of heavy-duty buses had a goal of reducing operational waste and gaining manufacturing efficiencies. Replenex worked directly with NFI to identify and prioritize opportunities for standardization in three facilities across the United States and Canada.
Replenex and 3M worked together to standardize pricing, product, and process in three facilities, and further worked across borders with 3M in the United States and Canada to provide common product names and SKU numbers, and a way to work through different currencies.
The collaboration resulted in more than $250,000 in annual savings for NFI, and an increased level of cooperation and communication among the companies.
