SAE International 2011 AeroTech Congress Headed Overseas for First Time



WARRENDALE, Pa. -- SAE International's 2011 AeroTech Congress & Exhibition will take place Oct. 18-21 in Toulouse, France, at the Centre de Congres Pierre Baudis & Toulouse Expo. The deadline to pre-register is Sept. 30. The theme for the conference is, "Eco-efficient Innovation Leading the Future of Aviation."

The three-day conference features an industry-driven technical program - the second largest in AeroTech history covering the top technologies of the aerospace industry, along with seminars ranging from materials and structures to propulsion to safety. This event will draw engineers, researchers, designers, operators, aerospace executives, consultants, students as well as government and military officials from around the world.

Host company for the 2011 AeroTech Congress is Airbus.

"AeroTech is one of the world's elite aerospace events where the aerospace community prepares to meet the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow," said Frank Bokulich, Aerospace Technical Development Manager, SAE International.

Thomas Enders, Chief Executive Officer of Airbus, will deliver the opening keynote address on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 8:30 a.m., followed by a keynote by John Slosar, Chief Executive Officer of Cathay Pacific Airways. The Plenary Session Executive Panel will follow the keynote addresses.

Other highlights include networking on a global scale, and the sold-out exhibition featuring the world's most innovative organizations. Special events of note include:

-- Awards Presentations & Luncheon - Wednesday, Oct. 19; 12:30-1:30 p.m.
-- 36th William Littlewood Memorial Lecture - "Design Drivers of Energy-Efficient Transport Aircraft" - Wednesday, Oct. 19; 1:30-3 p.m.
-- Axel Krein, Senior Vice President, Research and Technology at Airbus will deliver the 2011 AeroTech Banquet Keynote Address. Awards presentations will follow the Banquet - Wednesday, Oct. 19; 7-9 p.m.
