Elemica Issued Patent for Innovation in Authenticating Commerce Partners

Efficiency and Flexibility of Supply Chain Operating Network Recognized

Exton, PA — Elemica, the leading Supply Chain Operating Network provider for the process industries, announces issue of US Patent Number 8,800,020 for a “Method and Apparatus for Translation of Business Messages.” Elemica’s patent is directed to the message translation system within Elemica’s next generation QuickLink Network platform. By building QuickLink – the backbone for Elemica’s Supply Chain Operating Network – from the ground up, the automation of business processes with a critical mass of trading partners becomes a reality. When greater supply chain visibility and control is achieved, companies gain the ability to better collectively sense and properly respond to supply and demand changes in the market.

“This is an important milestone for the Company, as it is one of several patent applications we have filed for our next generation QuickLink Network platform,” said John Blyzinskyj, Elemica’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our Research and Development team is world-class, and I am proud of their accomplishments as recognized by the granting of this patent by the US Patent Office. In the days ahead, I anticipate securing additional patents for other innovative QuickLink Network functionality.”

This newly issued US patent is part of Elemica’s international patent portfolio and provides a strong basis for the protection of Elemica’s growing intellectual property portfolio. The company anticipates receiving additional approvals in several other jurisdictions as a result of this approval in the United States.

"Patent protected technologies, as a foundation for collaboration and process capabilities, are essential for companies to achieve excellence in managing their supply chain," said Brad Delizia, Elemica’s General Counsel.

Elemica introduced the new QuickLink platform in May, 2013. Supply Chain leaders leveraging its robust capabilities gain a comprehensive picture of business performance both inside and outside the four walls of their company. This allows them to capture actionable insights from their supply chain network, leading to more mutually beneficial trading partner relationships and a clear competitive edge.
