REGO-FIX to Showcase Advanced Toolholding Mix and More at IMTS

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — At IMTS 2014 in booth W-2239, REGO-FIX will introduce several precision tooling products, including the easiest, most accurate collet system for high-speed machining on the market; a small, but mighty innovation for effective tool locking; a one-of-a-kind retrofit coolant-through system for live tooling; and a slip-proof clamping nut for sealing or cooling disks.

REGO-FIX developed the new ER MicRun® Collet System with the best combination of TIR, clamping force and ease of use in mind. The entire system has a TIR of less than 0.00012" at 3 x D. The MicRun's self-locking design retains the collet in the nut for easier insertion and removal, with no extractor required. And to ensure it maintains high repeatability and rigidity in challenging applications, REGO-FIX equipped the system with a special thread that keeps the nut aligned with the holder. Suitable for high-speed machining, the MicRun is available in standard taper types as well as standard and mini-nut designs.

Part of REGO-FIX's powRgrip® product line, secuRgrip® brings simple, effective tool locking to challenging metal removal applications. This anti-pull system, locks the collet and cutter to the toolholder body to eliminate cutter slippage. It does so via a patented locking system that includes a small, profiled locking key insert that fits into a standard Weldon endmill flat. powRgrip secuRgrip has a TIR of 0.0001" and enables manufacturers to preset their tool heights. REGO-FIX customers can modify their existing powRgrip holders for use with the system. The secuRgrip locking system is now also available for milling chucks.

The company's new retrofit reCool® coolant-through system quickly and cost effectively brings the benefits of internal cooling to the live tooling used in CNC turning operations. Able to convert an existing tooling system to include through-coolant in as little as two minutes, reCool is much more effective in getting coolant to the cutting edge than spray pipes or nozzles. It achieves standard speeds up to 12,000 rpm and pressures up to 1,000 psi. Higher speeds and coolant pressures are available upon request. With reCool, live tools featuring external threads (ISO 15488/DIN 6499) can machine faster and last longer. The system also works in conjunction with REGO-FIX collets, sealing and coolant flush disks, milling cutters and drills with diameters from 0.098" to 1.2".

The new slip-proof ERMX mini clamping nuts from REGO-FIX feature a frontal milled slot on their outside diameter that mates perfectly to a corresponding wrench to prevent slippage during the tightening  and loosening process. These new clamping nuts, which are suitable for the company's sealing or cooling disks, have a special surface treatment for increased clamping force and a unique coating that prevents corrosion. ERMX works with ER collets in DIN 6499and ISO 15488. Among the many benefits of this compact product are lower injury risks due to slip-proof clamping, internal and external cooling, improved chip removal, reduced tool costs and improved productivity.

Other advanced toolholding products IMTS attendees will see in booth W-2239 include new short and long shank powRgrip collets that have been added to REGO-FIX's powRgrip toolholding system. They will also see the company's newly expanded ER 50 sealing disk system, too.
