Florence, Kentucky - (May 2008) Mr. David M. Sorter was recently appointed President of Sweco, A Business Unit of M-I L.L.C., headquartered in Florence, Kentucky. Sweco is a developer and key source of separation technology to pharmaceutical, petroleum, food and other industries.
Mr. Sorter will lead the industrial businesses of Sweco and United Wire, as well as the ES manufacturing operations. Dave feels that "our challenge ahead is to build upon the past successes of the Company. Customer satisfaction will continue to be one of our key metrics. He sincerely feels that "the toughest thing about being president is being called 'president' by all the good folks I have worked with for the last 15 years. Dave joined Sweco in June 1993 as Manager Manufacturing Engineering and through his distinguished career he has held various positions in Manufacturing. His most recent position was that of Director Global Manufacturing Operations. Dave's background includes a BBA from Eastern Kentucky University and an Associates of Mechanical Engineering from Cincinnati State. His career has been augmented by the learning and successful implementation of a wide variety of Continuous Improvement/ Lean systems.
