$25,000 PI NanoInnovation Grant(TM) Deadline is March 31


Auburn, MA - Feb 2006 - PI, a leading manufacturer of nanopositioning and piezo-based precision motion-control equipment for photonics, semiconductor and lifescience applications offers its 3rd annual NanoInnovation(TM) Grant. Winners can select $25,000 worth of cutting-edge nanopositioning products from PI's product lines.
The deadline for proposals is March 31.

The $25,000 PI NanoInnovation Grant(TM) supports North American researchers developing innovative processes or products that benefit from nanopositioning devices; the program reinforces PI's commitment to the scientific community.

PI was established by optical scientists 35 years ago and has worked closely with research ever since. Today, PI is the world's leading manufacturer of nanopositioning components and systems for science and OEM applications.

2005 NanoInnovation Grant(TM) Winners

The 2005 winners were Arthur La Porta and Steven M. Block from the Department of Biological Sciences at Stanford University for their proposal entitled "Second Generation Optical Torque Wrench".

The Block Lab at Stanford University is one of the world's leading research institutes on Biological Sciences.

The PI NanoInnovation Grant(TM) Advisory Board.

This board evaluates each proposal. It consists of three scientific advisors with leadership in their respective technology fields that use and advise the use of nanopositioning equipment and instruments for their research and development activities. The Advisory Board consists of the following distinguished researchers:
